The 16th edition of the J/80 World Championship, is proudly hosted by the Royal Southern Yacht Club. 47 teams from Australia, France, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Spain will be competing. 14 races are scheduled to take place in The Solent, providing four days of top class racing for a truly world class fleet. Kevin Sproul’s name has been etched on the J/80 Open National Championship Trophy for the seventh time. Racing J.A.T., the Scottish helmsman scored no lower than a fourth in nine races, to win the UK National title in a fleet of 21 boats. Jon Powell’s team, racing Betty, is the runner up, just a point ahead of Olympic Silver Medallist, Luke Patience, racing Ryoko Meka. Continue reading

The Royal Southern Yacht Club in Hamble will host the 2017 J/80 Nationals from 16th-18th June, and entry for the event is now open. This is likely to be a hugely popular event, as it comes less than four weeks before the J/80 Worlds – also hosted by the Royal Southern – and two months before Cowes Week. So it’s an ideal opportunity to hone your skills and gain valuable race winning experience on the Solent. Continue reading

The Royal Southern Yacht Club (RSrnYC) is delighted to be hosting next year’s J/80 Class World Championships, with racing from Monday 10th to Friday 14th July.
There are only 8 days to go until the J/80 Nationals at RLymYC which start on Saturday 27th August. With 23 boats entered so far and more expected this is looking like it will be a spectacular event. Entries will be accepted until 9am on Saturday 27th August.
The Royal Lymington Yacht Club is pleased to welcome even more sponsorship for the J/80 UK National Championship being held 27-29 August. Skyscanner have generously agreed to support the main social events, Amis Productions will provide aerial and rib-based video coverage of the races and Helly Hansen will be providing very generous Goody Bag kit and Prizes.
